Some really interesting history behind one of these moulds!! Who would have known that ceramics could help fight off infection? 🌼 Did I make the right choices this episode? VD: I pick a stack of 4 plaster moulds. I pour all moulds to uncover what’s inside. Unveiling a shell dish, a sweet mouse doll, some ceramic pomander and a large plant pot with nature inspired details. I then make a decision of whether I will smash the piece or cast the pieces to work on again. #mysterymold #mysteryreveal

I loved making this weeks Mystery mould! Featuring the sweetest tiny foods 🍳🥞 There were so many different tiny foods I could have made! What foods would have you liked to see on these skillets? Some groovy skillets for your Monday morning! ☀️ Which one is your favourite? VD: I pick a mould from the shed and pour it up. I then open the mould to reveal skillets! I trim them up and sculpt some eggs and bacon, attaching them to the skillet. I then use underglaze to paint the skillet in a peach, add the yellow yolks and the tones of red for bacon. I then glaze them, and put them in the kiln for firing. Finally revealing all of the final skillets!

My Taylor Swift ‘1989’ mug is filled with polaroids and a peaceful blues 🌊📷 I loved creating this mug and being able to add in all of the references to this beautiful album! I especially loved painting Taylor’s cat Olivia Benson because it reminded me of my own cats!!🐈 Image 1: Blue mug on banding wheel, it shows the polaroids of the mountain scape and book. Back to continue the Taylor Swift stackable mug series, here’s 1989 🌊🏙️ 1989 was such a notable era within Taylor’s career! The switch over to the pop genre, allowed songs like ‘Out of the Woods’ and ‘Blank Space’ to flourish, which is seen through the polaroids I painted on the mug. I also couldn’t not include one of Taylor’s cats, Olivia Benson on the mug! The light blues and seagull details seen on the mug allude to the ocean imagery throughout the album, and especially on the album cover for 1989 (TV). VD: I started with a blank mug and began by attaching 3 squares to mimic polaroids on the mug. Then in a light blue, I painted the surface of the mug, adding in small seagull details in white. I sketched out the polaroids pictures in grey lead. Starting with adding earthy tones to a mountain scape, then browns and beiges to a book, and finally corals and greys to a cat. I then added underglaze to the inside of the mug, before dunking it into the glaze and revealing the finished results.
