Here are the answers to your juiciest questions! Please read these before sending an email or contacting through the contact page. If you send an email with a question from this FAQ you may not get a response.

  • Yep! My goodies can be shipped all over Australia and across the world.

    At checkout, please ensure to double check your address. Some items are often shipped the very same day of purchase. If you do make a mistake make sure to email adjustments to shelbysherrittart@gmail.com.All Australian orders will receive FREE shipping. International shipping will be processed at checkout. Not all items can be shipped Internationally. All items that contain seeds or dried flowers can not be shipped internationally.

    Shipping can take anywhere from a few days to a couple of weeks depending on the location. Sometimes orders might take a little longer if there are unforeseen delays impacting the postal services. Every order is sent a tracking number. Check these updates regularly, however if any unreasonable delays occur please contact us so we can follow it up.

  •  The website is restocked every few months. Due to every item being handmade the shop can often be out of stock as new original artworks are being created.The best way to find out the time and date for the restock is to follow along on Instagram, Facebook, YouTube and Tik Tok.All item details are noted in the listing descriptions. Please read each of these carefully before purchase. The pieces are sold via the website via a first in first served basis to keep it fair for everyone. No HOLDS or special preferences are given to anyone.  Some items can be highly sought after, it is recommended to set an alarm for the designated time and be on the site as it goes live to avoid disappointment.

  • Pre-orders will be offered when time and capacity allows it. All of the details of the pre-order items will be noted in the product description. This includes how long to expect to wait for the pre-order, what the pre-order is for, and a general idea of what to expect. Due to ceramics being precarious, timeframes can be subject to change if there are issues in the kiln which could delay the dispatch of your order. However, if this occurs we will be transparent with you and ensure you are notified of any delays with your order.Unfortunately, there are no waitlists for these pieces as some may not be recreated again.

  • There are currently no customs or commissions. If you do have a great idea please get in touch as it may be something already noted to create for the shop.

  • A shop preview will go live 24 hours before the restock goes live. A preview shows pieces as Sold Out, however they will become available during the designated shop restock time slot.

    This allows the chance to view the pieces in the restock so you are able to choose which ones you would like to add to your cart before the restock goes live.

    Pieces can sell out quickly. The preview is set up to allow a relaxed browsing experience before the release.

  • You sure can! It is recommended processing orders separately during the restock as some things can sell out before you can add an additional piece to your cart.

    When an item is in your cart it is NOT guaranteed as yours. You must finalise payment for it to be yours. This is based off the payment system on the website and cannot be changed.

  • Pricing varies on each piece. When you order a Shelby Sherritt original artwork you aren’t just getting a pot or ceramic piece. You are getting a unique, handmade, quality piece of art. The bonus of these artworks is the pieces are also functional and can be used every day. The prices reflect the craftwomanship, skill, artistry and talent that goes into every piece.

  • Items are crafted over weeks. The process of crafting your one of a kind piece starts from sculpting, pouring or throwing clay into the required shape. Each piece is then smoothed and finessed from palm to fingertip to make sure the surface is even and free from marks. Each piece is then illustrated by hand with a unique design. The pieces go through a firing to cure the clay, then glazed with a glass like glaze and fired one more time to vitrify the piece so it is safe to hold food and liquids. Your item is then checked and sanded before being posted out to you.

    As each item is handmade, imperfection is a part of their charm.

  • Although each and every piece can stand the test of time, they do need to be handled with care. They can be fragile and break under pressure ie; please don’t throw these items. Each piece is food, oven and dishwasher safe. Although it is dishwasher safe, it is recommended to hand wash to look after the strength of the glaze. Any items that include gold details are not to be placed in the microwave.

  • I am conscious of our footprint on the environment especially with packaging materials to send out your orders. Each of my pieces are delicately wrapped in recycled, reused or recyclable materials. This means they may not look pretty when you are unwrapping them (sorry not sorry for not making them aesthetic for unboxing videos) but this is to protect the pretty wildflowers and animals that these works are inspired by.

    Your item will often arrive in a compostable satchel. This satchel can be cut off and reused to post another item or placed into a compost bin.

    Orders in Australia will receive a thank you card made from recycled paper and imbedded with native seeds. This card should be planted mindfully in your own garden and not in the wild.

    Jewellery orders will arrive in a reusable organic cotton muslin bag. These muslin bags are not food grade certified however can be used at the discretion of the new owner.

    If you would like to donate any newspaper, kraft paper, bubble wrap, honeycomb wrap or biodegradable packing peanuts please get in contact at shelbysherrittart@gmail.com. We are always looking to reuse packaging before buying so your orders can have a minimal impact on the environment.

  • When purchasing an item from Shelby Sherritt we ask you read all listing descriptions very carefully. Cancellations will only be allowed 4 hours after purchase. This is due to the team packing most orders a few hours after restocks go live. If you contact requesting a cancellation you will receive a refund minus a $10 PayPal processing fee.

  • All of the creations are one of a kind and made with love in regional Victoria. Therefore, all sales are final and no returns can be made. Please pick your items carefully. If there are issues with your purchase please get in contact at shelbysherrittart@gmail.com .

    If your parcel arrives worse for ware by the shipping company and has caused the item to break, please take your parcel straight to Australia post and report the damage. Once you have done this send an email to shelbysherrittart@gmail.com to follow up on our end so we can action a refund or replacement as soon as possible. We endeavour to wrap all items super snug so this doesn’t happen but sometimes posties like to play football with parcels.

  • Sometimes at restock a number of people attempt to purchase the same item. When this happens sometimes the processing time can glitch and take the funds from both accounts. Unfortunately, this is a glitch with PayPal and the funds will be returned to your account within 24 hours. If the funds are not returned please get in contact with PayPal.

  • I absolutely love to hear when others are interested and want to learn about Pottery! At the moment I have minimal capacity to offer workshops with my current work load.

    I do however have some capacity to provide work experience and am occasionally looking for studio helpers during busy seasons. If you are interested in work experience or applying to be a studio helper please send an expression of interest to shelbysherrittart@gmail.com.

  • Some restocks will feature a collection of dried bloom bouquets. Dried blooms are wonderful as they last a lot longer than a fresh bouquet making it a more sustainable alternative to having year round pretty flowers in your home. As the flowers are all real natural matter, some restrictions apply to where they can be sent. The dried flowers can only be sent to the following states in Australia:

    Victoria

    Australian Capital Territory

    New South Wales

    Queensland

    South Australia

    All other Australian states and International countries have custom laws that restrict such items from entering. If you are from one of these restricted states and purchase these items, you may be charged a fee by your state government customs when picking up your parcel.

    For longevity of Dried Blooms please keep out of direct sunlight, away from water and give them a gentle floof out after their postage journey to return the petals back to their natural state.

  • At the moment my studio is currently not open to the public. I restock regularly online and sometimes attend market events and supply goodies at various stockists. The best way to find out about new restocks and events is to follow along on social media.
